Im thinking about getting a HP BQ0G5EA i3 8GB 256GB Desktop PC from argos and I've got a couple questions:

Can I do a bit of gaming on this like gta or fortnite or something

Is this pc upgradeable like can I open it up and upgrade the ssd and ram

And finally is it generally a good pc

@MRFORT333,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

The HP OmniDesk Slim Desktop S03-0012na PC (BQ0G5EA) is a compact and efficient small-form-factor system, but it's not really designed for gaming or heavy performance upgrades. Here are a few key points to help you decide:

Gaming capability:

You'll be able to play lightweight or older titles like Fortnite or GTA V at low settings and 720p resolution, but don't expect smooth performance at higher settings or resolutions. This model relies on integrated Intel UHD graphics, which aren't meant for demanding 3D gaming.

Upgrade options:

  • Storage: Unfortunately, this model does not have any SATA slots or bays for adding a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch HDD/SSD. It supports only one M.2 NVMe SSD as its internal storage drive. That's quite limiting for future expansion.

  • Memory: The RAM is upgradable, typically up to 32 GB (2 × 16 GB DDR4), depending on configuration.

  • Graphics: There’s no PCIe x16 slot, so you can’t add a dedicated graphics card.

  • Power Supply:  the paltry 180-watt power supply is barely sufficient to power this system.

Overall:

It's an OK everyday PC for web browsing, office work, streaming, and school tasks -but not ideal for gaming or users who want easy storage expansion. If you're planning to play games regularly or need more flexibility, you definitely want to look at a small tower desktop with SATA bays, dedicated GPU options, and an upgradeable power supply.

Kind Regards,
