Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Alright so im looking to upgrade from 8GB of RAM to 16GB of RAM. can I use any RAM cards that are 2666 mhz or do I have to find HP Compliant RAM?

Normally you have to use COMPATIBLE RAM because 2666MHz RAM sticks are NOT the same. After knowing your machine, you can click your model on the following list to get compatible RAM

 

     https://www.crucial.com/upgrades/hp---compaq/pavilion-690-series

What is your HP Pavilion 690-0xx ? For example HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0073w, its specs:

This what I know about my HP Pavilion is that I have:

Sunflower Motherboard 

AMD Ryzen 5 2400G 

RX 550 GPU 

And 8 GB of 2666 Mhz of RAM.
