OMEN 25L Desktop GT11-1000a/GT12-1000a (1Z1B3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I want to upgrade my Omen 25 L from 16GB to 32 GB. I bought the matching RAM sticks on Amazon and installed them, but they are not recognized by the system.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor

All 4 slots are used (4x8 GB) but only the original is reckognized.

Hi

Have seen this happen before. Some HP motherboards only recognize memory sticks purchased from HP when you buy the PC.

HP would have to update BIOS microcode to recognize specific retail memory speed and timings from other memory manufacturers. It's a BIOS memory compatibility digital signature issue.

Have you checked your PCs HP Support site for a BIOS update to allow third party memory upgrades?

Retail MBs provide a Quality Vender List validating approved memory. HP does not do this.

Crucial Memory guarantees compatible memory upgrades.

Somehow I can't find the Bios Update you are talking about. It seems to me that HP is really **bleep**ty with support. Seems I bought that RAM for nothing.
