Pavilion 510p009
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I currently have 12 G of RAM in my computer (1x8G and 1x4G) and want to upgrade to 16, which according to the product specs should be possible.  I bought  a Corsair Vengeance 16G upgrade kit (2x8GB, 2133mHz, DDR4) and when I install it, the computer won't boot up.

Any suggestions?

So as it turns out, I received defective RAM.  Found the component test during startup.  Got 16GB of RAM made by Kingston, and everything works as it should.

@1969axeman , welcome to the forum.

The first thing to try is clearing the CMOS.  Here is the Motherboard Specifications page:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-510-p000-desktop-pc-series/10734566/model/11955307/...

You can find the instructions on clearing the CMOS in the section titled "I/O Ports and Jumpers/"Jumpers".  The CMOS is a chip that stores the settings for the BIOS.

If this doesn't solve your problem, you may want to update the BIOS:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-pavilion-510-p000-desktop-pc-series/10...

Make certain to follow the instructions carefully.

Last, you should contact Crucial's Tech Support to see if they can help you.  They are the experts on their products and should know if their memory is compatible with your HP motherboard.
