Recently I bought an OMEN 45L Desktop PC.

When I use the lighting option to turn off all the ram lighting under Omen gaming hub, one of the memory cannot be turned off completely.

In this picture, the leftmost memory is the one with problem. It has some lighting on it despite it has been turned off in the system.

I don't know what cause it, and look forward to any advice to resolve it.

Thanks!

@nonmory, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Ah, the classic "ghost lighting" issue on RAM sticks! 😅 It looks like one of your Kingston Fury sticks isn't fully responding to the Omen Gaming Hub's lighting control. Here are a few things you can try to fix it:

Restart the Omen Gaming Hub

Sometimes, the software doesn’t properly sync with all components. Try closing and reopening the Omen Gaming Hub, then toggling the RAM lighting settings again.

Reapply Lighting Settings

  • Set all RAM lighting to a different color or effect.
  • Wait a few seconds, then set it back to "off."
  • This can help re-sync the lighting control.

Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub

If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the Omen Gaming Hub. Make sure it’s fully updated before testing again.

  • Try reseating the RAM stick: power off the PC, remove the leftmost stick, reinsert it firmly, and restart.
  • Swap the problematic stick with another one to see if the issue follows the slot or the RAM itself.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Hi Garp_senchau,

Thanks for your kind reply.

I have tried what you said in the comment. It seems that the problem still exists.

I finally swap the problematic one with another one, and the problem goes with the problematic one.

Here's a picture of it,

I swap the leftmost and the rightmost, the lighting issue still exists. So I was thinking it should be the ram problem.

Hey @nonmory,

Thank you for your response.

It really does seem like a RAM issue, especially since swapping the components didn't fix the lighting problem. When the issue persists after changing the parts, it typically points to a memory problem.

I hope this has been helpful

Take care and have a good day.
