I recently installed driver updates for whatever Realtek version was installed onto my PC and it went wrong, to keep it short. Code 45 not connected.
It was connected.
Okay so what now? I followed advice to simply just delete the driver, deleted and restarted pc. Should have reinstalled and fixed the issue. Yet, now it's nowhere to be found. I can't get audio to come from the headphone jack and Realtek is no longer available in my device list. I can't actually seem to find Realtek anywhere on my PC at all.
Basically, I'd like to reinstall the drivers. But my motherboard is an 8917, and there is literally nothing to help me on this website. On my drivers page, the list is empty. What am I supposed to do now? I don't want to install legacy drivers for fear of BSOD and all of that. I can't find the correct version because HP offers absolutely no support for my model on their website. Actually quite frustrated right now.

Your windows 11 software is here
This is the Realtek driver for your laptop. it is version 6.0.9484.1 Rev.B
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp148501-149000/sp148836.exe
if the above does not work then try this 2024 release

Greetings @Fwuzzer
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Generally, Windows Update should install a compatible Realtek audio driver after removing the current audio driver and restarting the PC. Or Windows should, at least, install the generic audio driver.
I would tend to think you may have a audio hardware problem if Device Manager shows no audio drivers or no errors. Seeing no audio device in Device Manager usually means Windows can't talk to the MB component.
Try the Realtek audio driver for your MB at this HP Site.
You may need to contact HP Support for warranty support if your PC is in warranty and you cannot get Realtek audio working.
