So my pc restarts on it's own for no reason. Thought it might have been a virus so after many many attempts I finally got it to do a complete reset. But now it keeps shutting down before I can reboot it and install windows. Also my windows has and "unexpected installation error" message so help with that as well would be swell.

I'm no expert at all but I have a guess. Could it be that something overheats or maybe a sensor thinks that your pc overheats and does a safety shutdown because of that?

 

About the error you are getting. I had to do a Windows reset on my Omen Obelisk (which I have for about 2 weeks now) because of HP Software breaking the system (got a lot of error reports) and had to try at least 4 times until I didn't get that "unexpected installation error" message. Maybe I had just luck.

 

I'm sorry that I can't really help but just do a guess. I hope you find a solution.

 

I've been reading a lot lately because these HP Omen Desktop PC's have a lot of Problems … and I have one too.
