I'm looking at adding a further SATA SSD drive to my Envy 795-0011na. There are two spare SATA ports on the bottom of the board. One blue and one yellow. I can't find any details about what SATA version these are. Are they SATA 2 or SATA 3. Or perhaps one of each? Does any one know?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, Jon:
The chipset specs for the Berks motherboard your PC comes with indicates that there can be a maximum of 6 SATA ports.
I know that on my ancient HP 8200 Elite CMT business desktop PC, it has 4 SATA ports.
The two blue ones are SATA 3 (6.0 GB/S) and the other two are SATA 2 (3.0 GB/S).
Usually, the blue ports are used for hard drives and the other colors are used for DVD drives and may not be SATA 3 since DVD drives only run at the SATA 1 (1.5 GHz) speed.

hi
except error the disk must be connected, but you can check with intel rapid storage
and or HWinfo
but if it's a slower disk it will be the speed of the disk, displayed, so you have to try with a 6 gb
