Hello HP Community.
I purchased an HP Omen 45L a couple of years ago. The full name is Omen by HP 45L Gaming Desktop GT22-0465xt, Product Number 33T58AA.
Recently, I have been wanting to upgrade the SSD. After reading the Product Details on HP's site, my understanding is that it has an expansion slot for a type M2 2280 SSD - PCIe Gen 4.0 x4.
I found a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD PCIE Gen 4x4 NVMe on offer, and was looking to buy it. It says it is can achieve read/write speeds of up to 7,000 megabytes per second.
I am no PC expert and am concerned that the read/write speeds are too high for this PC [similar to how DDR5 RAM is not compatible with this motherboard]. Does read/write speed matter in this case or is it enough that the SSD is PCIE Gen 4x4?
Also, I have upgraded the RAM to 64 GB DDR4, with an NVDIA 3080 GPU. All of this on an 800W Power Adaptor. If I were to to add the aforementioned 2TB Samsung PCIE 4x4 SSD, does anyone know if I should be uprading the wattage of the Power Adaptor? My guess is no and that only a really big upgrade [like one of the high end 4000 series NVIDIA GPUs] would require this.
Thank you all and take care.
EDIT: One more question [apologies]: if anyone has this same model, do you know where I could find the PCIE 4x4 M2 slot? Do I need to remove the GPU or is it located in a more accessible spot? The reason I ask is because I watched HP's video on how to replace parts on the Omen 45L. The SSD section required removal of GPU before removing and replacing the SSD. However, I am not looking to replace the current SSD. Instead, I wish to utilize the empty PCIE 04x4 slot. For the life of me I cannot find it.

Greetings @Awais_Hussain
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Yes the 990 Pro can do up to about 7000 MB/s.
Your MB supports PCIe 4.0 M.2 drives. Installing the 990 would not be a problem.
The 800 watt power supply installed in your PC can handle a second M.2 drive.
The primary M.2 socket is usually populated with the system drive. This M.2 socket is generally located between the PCIe x16 Graphics card slot and the CPU socket.
I am not familiar with your MB. But the second M.2 socket should be in the lower right or left section of the MB.
The M.2 socket should be similar to the following image. Your MB's M.2 socket may have a heatsink.
