OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT14-0000i (3V745AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

So I have bought myself an Samsung SDD 860 evo 2TB but my PC seems like it can't find it. I have tried the different SATA ports but have not gotten any further with my problem, I tried to find it in the OMEN bios settings but it can't find it either.

I have been searching online for an solution, but have not found anything in my case. I am not the best with computers so I am hoping someone on here might have a solution on what I can do

You're very welcome.

The current WD Blue model series is the SA510.

You're not the first person who has installed a Samsung drive in their HP PC and have it not work, and I am at a loss to explain why.

Samsung makes excellent products.

How are you planning to use the drive?

If for storage, you should plug the SATA data cable in the SATA port labeled SATA1.

If you plan on using it as a boot drive (not recommended if your PC has the NVMe SSD as the boot drive), you connect the data cable to SATA port 0.

I'm assuming that you have the SATA power connector plugged into the drive as well?

Make sure the SATA ports are enabled in the BIOS (maybe in the security settings).

I plan on using it as storage, so I tried to plug it into the SATA1 port since I do have an NVMe I am already running with my boot drive.

I find the BIOs settings for Omen to be a bit confusing, but I can try to double check that it is enabled. I did try before with an Samsung SDD 870 evo 2TB and the computer found it for a little bit, but I had problems that it just did disappear from the computer whenever it felt like it and sometimes came back after rebooting the computer.

That's very strange.

Maybe your PC doesn't like the Samsung drives.

You may want to try a Western Digital Blue SATA SSD.

That would be the only suggestion I can offer because it seems to me like you have installed the drive correctly.

Might possibly the problem.

Thanks a lot for your help, I will try to look into a Western Digital Blue SATA SSD
