Hi @shivam120107,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your laptop's screen-on time is showing 23 hours and 57 minutes in the last 24 hours, despite not using it for the past two days, there might be a few possible explanations for this discrepancy. Here are some things you can check and consider.
- Sleep or Hibernate Mode: It's possible that your laptop is not entering sleep or hibernate mode properly, and the screen is staying on even when you're not actively using it. Check your power settings to ensure that your laptop is configured to go to sleep or hibernate after a certain period of inactivity.
- Background Processes: There might be some background processes or applications running that are preventing your laptop from entering a low-power state. Check the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to see if there are any applications or processes consuming a significant amount of CPU or GPU resources.
- Windows Updates or Maintenance: Sometimes, Windows updates or maintenance tasks can keep your laptop awake. Make sure that your operating system is up to date and that any pending updates are installed.
- Malware or Unwanted Software: Malicious software or unwanted applications could be causing your laptop to stay active. Run a thorough antivirus scan to ensure your system is clean.
- Power Settings: Review your power settings to make sure they are configured correctly. Go to "Power & sleep settings" and check both the screen and sleep settings to ensure they align with your preferences.
- Check for Updates: Ensure that your laptop's firmware (BIOS/UEFI) and graphics drivers are up to date. HP often release updates that can address such issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
