HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0005nl

Yes , I know this update is already old , but after the problems I had with the 15.57.0.0 where the PC froze daily for months until the new version appeared I'm very much terrified of doing it .

Is there a list of things that are changed by the new 15.59.0.0 update and has anyone had any issues with it as of now ?

Also I've seen a 15.60.0.0 update from August . What does that one do and is it safe to update after ?

Hi @bigbogdan98

The two firmware updates are probably BIOS updates.

Check this Link for BIOS update F.60 offered by HP instead of Windows. There is no "Fixes" section at the link offering info on what F.60 does.

F.59 is in the Revision history list. It is strange if Windows Update is pushing F.59 after F.60. F.60 should be the latest BIOS update for your MB.

I remember what happened with BIOS update F.57. I would not install any HP firmware updates offered by Windows Update.

I think Windows Update is pushing first F.59 because right now I'm still at F.58 since after its released I haven't done any update . I know of F.60 after looking for updates myself .

What I wanted to ask is if its safe to do either of those updates ? And if yes , I should download them directly from the official site ?

Hi @bigbogdan98

I don't know if F.59 or F.60 are safe. They should be.

I'm pretty sure HP offered F.57 at the HP download site. The HP BIOS download also bricked Sunflower MBs.

But I would use the HP site if you are going to do a BIOS update.

No need to update the BIOS if your PC is working good.
