Microsoft Windows 11

I’m trying to turn off the bright green light on the front of the computer. I see others have done this with the Omen Gaming Hub. However, I only see “ System Vitals” under the HP PC in the Omen Hub. Others have an “desktop” option that lets them turn off the light. I updated to the latest version from the Window’s Store today.  Below is a screenshot of all I see on the left hand panel in the Omen Hub.

How do I turn off the light?

Thank you.

Greetings @RobertScharf

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I don't believe the front bezel LED is software configurable.

You can disconnect the wire which connects the front bezel LED to your PC's MB when the PC is off and disconnected from AC power. Depress and hold down the power button a few times after disconnecting the PC from AC power.

Remove the chassis' left side access panel.

Remove the front bezel. You will see a wire going from the front bezel to the MB.

Disconnect the wire at the MB connection.

Be careful. Messing this up could cause issues if your PC is in warranty.

Thank you for the reply. I was thinking it could be turned off by the Omen Hub because of this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10eH2L2wci8  and other posts on various other websites.  Unfortunately, my Omen Hub doesn’t show the options that the others do.

I think I will try covering it with black duct tape before opening out the case to unplug stuff. Thank you for your suggestion. I will try that if nothing else works.

Thanks,

Robert

Greetings Robert,

I'm pretty sure front LED is static.

It is powered by the MB connection.
