Hello, I am having an issue with my HP Omen 30L - SIN: [text omitted to protect user privacy].

The issue im having is static noises or crackling when I download a game. Also, my keyboard (wired), Mouse (wired) and headset (bluetooth) disconnects randomly. I believe there is something wrong with the following:

BIOS update

USB Drivers

Power Supply on my pc.

Any advice or help I can get on this would be great, I am about to just build my own pc at this point so I dont keep having these issues... PLEASE HELP.

Welcome to the HP Forum.

You only hear headset static when downloading a game? This is very unusual.

Would it be possible to try the Bluetooth headset on a different PC to see how it goes?

Is this a recent event?

Do you have this issue when using Desktop speakers?

The PCIe Audio circuitry should be isolated from the rest of the MB components and MB traces.

So this sounds like a possible MB hardware problem. Or maybe a Bluetooth hardware/driver problem if speakers work okay.

Provide a specific HP Product number. There may be a BIOS update or a Bluetooth driver update available for your PC.

I can't say if a BIOS update will fix this.

I hear the static/lagging when downloading anything, it could be a game, a file, or just loading a YouTube video. It's not my internet connection because I have 500 mb/s and a mesh system which I don't have issues loading anything on my Xbox/other consoles or laptop.

Ever since I got this OMEN HP desktop back in 2021, I was new to the pc gaming world and thought it's just a regular issue. Nothing to worry about. Anyways, I started to get more annoyed by the static and have bought 3 different headsets and all doing the same thing. I ran across a video about uninstalling the usb drivers and reinstalling them to see if it works and it did for about 5 months or so. 2 weeks ago, I am unsure what changed but now its laggy on some games, volume is static when talking to people in discord/Xbox party. Not sure what the issue is now and I'm at a loss.

Additionally, when the static is very bad /lagging gets worse my keyboard (wired), mouse (wired), and headset (Bluetooth using usb connection though) disconnects and reconnects. I feel like there is something wrong with the PSU or something wrong with the USB drivers or Bios update isn't up to date. Latest version I have is October of 2023 I believe. My monitor has speakers and yes it does the same thing.

Lastly, I did provide a serial number but it is blocked for some odd reason.... I have an HP Omen 30L .

The latest BIOS update for your PC, I could find, is Here. All other HP drivers for your PC are Here.

Forum Moderators will remove product serial numbers.

I would say you have a MB hardware problem based on the info you have provided in your second response.

Check your PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run extensive system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem.

A PSU problem? The symptoms don't sound like a PSU problem. I guess anything is possible.

Maybe you can borrow a power supply from a friend to see if swapping in a different PSU helps.

Greetings @Bourland96

Did you run HP Diagnostics as suggested in my previous response?

I really believe the MB has a hardware problem. Or a component connected to the MB has a problem.

You can also confirm a hardware problem by backing up data.

Then do a HP Cloud Recovery.

You have a hardware problem if the symptoms persist after doing a cloud recovery.

You may not want to do the above; it is time consuming since it requires rebuilding the OS, reinstalling all third party software, and tweaking your preferred OS settings.

But it sounds like you are saying the static problem has been around since you purchased the PC. And the PC is unstable in other areas of operation.

I don't know what else to say. You may have to replace the MB, or replace some other component.

Buy a decent soundcard if you have an open: PCIe x1 or PCIe x4 slot on the MB. You could also try an external USB DAC, But this may not help if your PC has a USB problem.

I don't know if any of the above purchase options are cost effective.

It might be time to buy/build a new PC.
