So basically I think I corrupted my drive because I turned off my pc while it was trying to switch to windows 11 instead of 10 which I completely forgot I asked for. Now whenever I turn on my pc it just doesn’t work and goes to this screen of saying “undoing changes made to your computer” it also blue screens me periodically every once in a while and I’ve tried launching it in soft launch or safe mode but whenever I try using the function keys that people say to press to solve it, it just doesn’t work and I was wondering if anyone could help me. Do I have to just buy another drive? Or is there a fix? I don’t know what to do

Shutting down the PC during a Windows update can cause problems.

 

You may have more than one problem. The BIOS error may or may not be related to the Windows shutdown during a Windows update.

 

I can only guess you have many corrupted system files caused by the shutdown. This could cause the "undoing changes error" and the System_Service_Exception error. I am not sure why you are seeing the CMOS Checksum error.

 

The CMOS checksum error refers to the MB CMOS RTC and BIOS settings. The MB CR2032 battery should probably be replaced if you haven't done this since purchasing the PC. The BIOS will reset to defaults when you replace the CR2032 MB battery.

 

Check your PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key to see if you can get to the HP UEFI Startup Menu. This may not happen if the BIOS is corrupted. Plus the HP Tools needed to run diagnostics may be located on the system drive.

Select "F2". Run system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem. Run extensive tests.

 

The system drive and other components should be okay if all hardware tests pass.

 

This PC was released for sale in 2019. You should be able to do a W10 HP Cloud Recovery. If not, you will have to do a clean W10 or clean W11 installation.

 

Let the Forum know if the PC's hardware is okay (you can run diagnostics) and if your PC qualifies for the W10 cloud recovery option.
