I have an HP pavilion desk top that I want to put a ryzen 5 5500 in, but it doesn't have the right bios version,
According to the specs and what the hp app says, it's the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-0023w. From 2020 with a (Ryzen 5 3500, 8GB RAM, 256GB M.2 drive, GTX 1650 super. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You're lucky it worked, but your luck will run out if you install the AMD Ryzen 5 5500.

Unfortunately, with or without a BIOS update, your PC's HP 'Erica' motherboard can only support the processors listed under the processor upgrade section at the link below:
HP Desktop PCs - motherboard specifications, Erica | HP® Support
The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 will not work in that motherboard.
