OMEN Desktop PC 25L GT12-0000i (7WM06AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I'm trying to do some upgrades to my pc with the following mother board that's included in it Motherboard L96319-001, I'm running into issues with seeing what the maximum this motherboard can handle on CPU's and storage options for SSD's and GPU as I currently run a CPU INT i7-10700 8C 2.9GHz 65W , Graphics Card -NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 6GB FH x16 G6 and the standard SSD WD 512G 2280 PCIe NVMe Value. I'm wanting to upgrade rather than buy/build a whole new setup. Anyhelp on this is greatly appreciated!

Greetings @Hotrodjas

Welcome back to the Forum.

It looks like your PC has the Dorado MB.

You can do a 65 Watt TDP Intel 10900 CPU. I can't say gaining fleeting turbo bursts at up to about 500 MHz would be worth the cost of upgrading your existing CPU.

You could buy a higher capacity PCIe NVME drive. Or add a 2.5 inch SATA SSD if needed.

GT12-0000i is a generic product number. I don't know your PC's power supply specs. HP installs standard ATX power supplies in 25L cases.

You could upgrade the power supply, if needed, to power a better graphics card.

You should be able to do up to about a 10 inch dual slot, dual fan, graphics card in your case.

An Nvidia 4070 (using standard PCIe power supply connections) might be an option if it fits in the case (length and width). The 4070 cards are pricey. AMD has some nice dual fan, dual slot cards (a 7600 or maybe a 7700).

Greetings @Hotrodjas

Thank you for the additional info.

This is what I see when checking your PC's specs. I can't provide additional CPU upgrade options without having access to HP information about your PC.

I did find a Datasheet for your PC at a third party site. This document does not provide component upgrade options.

The PC has:

1. An Intel 10700. Upgrade options: unknown.

2. A Nvidia 2060. You have GPU upgrade options.

3. A 500 watt power supply. You can upgrade the power supply to add a better GPU.

4. 16 GBs of RAM. You can expand RAM to, up to 64 GBs.

5. One M.2 NVME drive socket. You can do a higher capacity M.2 drive. I/m sure you can also add a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.

I mentioned a possible dual fan, dual slot Nvidia 4070 upgrade in a previous response. Nvidia 4060 cards will also work with your PC's case.

You can do any ATX power supply upgrade provided the new PSU has similar dimensions to the existing HP power supply.

Your PC's MB can be finnicky with memory module upgrades. @NonSequitur777 can suggest compatible memory for your PC's MB.

@Bill_To,

1.) Processor upgrade options: definitely go with an i7-10700K or i7-10700KF, or better yet, an i9-10900K / i9-10900KF -the latter having my preference. Yes: these 125-watt processor are compatible with an HP System OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx system.

2.) A meaningful graphics card upgrade from an RTX 2060 would be a (smaller-sized, dual fan) RTX 4070 Super, such as this model or an RTX 4070 such as this model -if you go with a 125-watt processor, I would recommend a 750-watt power supply, or if you want to keep the 500-watt power supply, go for at least an RTX 4070 such as this model.

Kind Regards,

NonSequitur777
