Hey all -
Completely new to the PC stuff and I was wondering if anyone knew what upgrades are supported for the HP Omen 25L GT12-0240m.
I looked through the manuals to see if I could find any helpful information, but I wasn't able to locate anything. In case I just didn't know what to look for and missed something entirely, the manual can be found here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-desktop-pc-25l-gt12-0000a/33802656/model/34385033/manuals
I talked to support and they said that the following CPUs are compatible with the motherboard:
AMD Ryzen 5 3500 (3.4 GHz base clock, up to 4.1 GHz max boost clock, 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores (Matisse) 65 W
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.2 GHz maximum boost frequency, 32 MB L3 cache, 6 core (Matisse) 65 W
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.4 GHz maximum boost frequency, 32 MB L3 cache, 8 core (Matisse) 65 W
AMD Ryzen 9 3900 3.1 GHz base clock, up to 4.3 GHz max boost clock, 64 MB L3 cache, 12 cores (Matisse) 65 W
I believe I currently have the AMD Ryzen 5 3500 and have wanted to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 3700X. My main question is whether this would potentially cause issues with overheating, or whether the fan that accompanies the Ryzen 7 3700x would do the job just fine. If it wouldn't do the job just fine or if the fan that came with it was incompatible, how would I go about improving the cooling? I'm totally lost on what would work for the PC. The computer also has a RTX 3070 if that's helpful information regarding heating/cooling.

@thatguypi , welcome to the Community.
If you buy the 3700x with the Wraith Prism cooler you shouldn't have any problems with the temperatures. There are many reviews online that have shown this cooler works very efficiently. Just make certain that there is plenty of space for the side panel to close.
