@Bruce7174,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop PC - 875-0014 (4NM65AA) happens to be a highly configurable and upgradeable Gaming desktop. In other words, no need to upgrade your motherboard in my gaming/expert-upgrading opinion.  You should have at a minimum a 600-watt PSU*.

For starters, your Edoras (SSID: 84FD) is 24-pin ATX power-enabled, meaning, you can (and probably should) upgrade your power supply with any industry standard higher wattage ATX power supply if you are in the market to upgrade your graphics card as well.

In terms of a processor upgrade, you got Options, my friend. -Notice that I spelled "Options" with a capital "O". Not knowing which processor you got installed at the moment, but if you got a reasonable budget to work with, I would recommend either an i7-9700, an i7-9700K or an i7-9700KF -the latter does not have iGPU, which you won't need, as you'll have a discrete gaming graphics card anyway. [EDIT:] Or at least an i7-8700K.

I would choose at least 2 x 8GB of dual-rank RAM (preferably 2 x 16GB, but I realize that budget comes into play here).

Your primary (boot) drive is, of course, a decent M.2 NVMe SSD, and your graphics card* is at least an RTX 2080 Super or an RTX 3070.

For cooling, you got, once again, Options. Adding an additional (92mm) cooling fan is a minimum. Other cooling options: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhHMe-y6_Ws, for example.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
