I want to update my current graphics card in my Omen 25L. Can the Omen 25L 500w power supply enough watts to support the GeForce 3060 graphics card? I’ve heard good things about the power supply just not sure it’s enough? Thanks

Hi @G12hunt
The Nvidia reference card suggests a minimum 550 watt PSU and one eight pin PCIe supplemental PSU connection to the card.
The power supply requirement is a close call. The 500 watt HP PSU may be okay or you have stability issues. This depends upon the combined CPU and graphics card power draw when stressing both components.
The reference card is a two slot card and is 9.5 inches in length. Other 3060 cards by different manufacturers may have different power requirements (higher wattage PSUs), or additional PCIe connections to the card, and different dimension specifications.
Plus you have to deal with the Nvidia 12 pin to eight pin adapter. Will this adapter work with your PC's chassis? You might be able to purchase a 90 degree or a 180 degree adapter to allow side panel clearance in your PC's chassis.
There is a lot of stuff to consider.
What graphics card do you have now? The upgrade may not be cost effective.

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
I would like to add that the minimum power supply to power an RTX 3060 is listed at 450-watt: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database. As a matter of fact, I got an HP Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 card to work just fine using an HP 400-watt power supply (p/n: 942332-001) as shown here in my HP ProDesk 600 G4 MT upgrade project: Solved: Upgrading to an HP ProDesk 600 G4 MT - HP Support Community - 8610054.
Point being, your 500-watt power supply will power an RTX 3060 graphics card without any issues.
Kind Regards,
