Hello there!
First of, here's the specs from my current setup:
Device name DESKTOP-N6JI93I
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
Product ID 00325-96259-22266-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
System Model OMEN by HP Desktop PC 880-p1xx
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 TI
I'm thinking of upgrading to a ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 ROG Strix but I have a few questions beforehand since I haven't upgraded a computer before.
First, does anyone know if the card will even fit? From my own measurements using a standard ruler it looks like I've got just enough room for it, but I want to be absolutely sure I won't have to move stuff around in an effort to squeeze it in there.
Second, apart from the powersupply, do I have to upgrade anything else in order to use the 3090?
Third, I tried asking my local computer store for help with the powersupply, and they said it might not be possible to swap it out in because it might be soldered in place? I can't tell if it is in my computer, does anyone know about this?
Lastly, do I have to consider upgrading the cooling elements? I've read that the 3090 produces quite alot of heat, and don't want that becoming a problem.
Thanks in advance 🙂

hi
this one
see the size of the card, if too tight, maybe prefer another model
at best not much bigger than the original one, you have the dimensions
for food, change specialist, not welded
this should be replaceable
and not a priori nothing more to modify
32 gb of ram..
the ssd is a little small, it's up to you otherwise!
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti
If you want my address for the old card, I take 😋
