HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0022na

I have an HP Pavilion 690-0022na with a 2 TB HDD and an Intel Optane 16 GB in my M. 2 slot and I was wondering if I could easily swap it for a normal 1 TB SSD. I understand I need to disable the optane through the Intel Optane app on my PC but after I do that and change the SSD, is it best to do a clean install of Windows? If so, I assume I need to format my HDD?

Can you give me a step by step guide on what I need to do to swap the Optane 16 GB NVME to a 1 TB NVME SSD?

Hi, this is not for an HP laptop. Do these steps work with a desktop?
