Hi, so I've been wanting to buy a new computer, my parents offered to buy me an RTX 5070 while I wait for the rest of the money I've been saving up. I have a few questions about adding the RTX 5070 to my HP computer while I wait for the new computer. I've looked at my powersupply and it says its 80+ gold 310w and I'm wondering if I got a new one would it be compatible with my computer, and would a bronze rated one be okay? I understand there would be a huge bottleneck at the moment with my i5 9400f, but that's something I can deal with at the moment. Anyway, would the card be able to reach full performance? So to sum things up, I need a new power supply to power the card, would it be compatible, and would the card work properly?

Hi @Eli168,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

Replacing the PSU in an HP TG01 may not be straightforward

 Bronze-rated is okay if compatible

The GPU will work, but won’t reach full performance yet

The safest long-term plan is using the RTX 5070 in your new build

I hope this helps.
