Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion 690-0024 Gaming Desktop PC and I was wondering if I get a 500w power supply could I be able to upgrade the GPU to a 3070? I've found two 3070's that might work...

You actually do not have the card ? Right ?

As far as I can see, the only problem with this card would be size of it, considering how high is the cooling solution extending, plus the power delivery, I think they are specifying 2x8pin PCIE connectors on the card, and as far as I know the 500W PSU has only one 8 pin.

I found a 8pin to 2x8pin converter on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/COMeap-Express-Adapter-Braided-Y-Splitter/dp/B072JR4H3N/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&k...
Also the card length is: 231.9mm x 141.3mm x 41.5mm / 9.1" x 5.6" x 1.6"
I also found a video and this guy was able to fit a dual-fan graphics card into the case. Here is the video if you want to see it, goto 14:43: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vK9Xr4In44&list=WL&index

As I said, you will have an issue with the height, or I guess width, whatever you want to call it. The stock nVidia FE version has 112 mm versus the Zotac card which is 141.3mm, that is 2CM more, if the card is not pushing against the side panel, it will be absolutely cramped, but I think that you wouldn't be able to close the side panel.
If you want to see upgrade options and mods for these specific Pavilion desktops, check out my channel, I have a lot of videos on those.

Height wise, it will. As for the length, I am not sure, will have to measure again the total space length inside, but the last time I measured I believe it was 9.2 inches, but don't quote me on this one, have to double check.
