I have this issue with my PC, but it is easier if I give the full rundown, because this is an issue not many people have. In the beginning (about 1 month prior to unusability), randomly, perhaps once every few days, my PC would just freeze, no BSOD, no beeping, nothing, all parts inside the computer looked normal, fans were spinning, lights were green, but the monitor was frozen, and USB devices didn't have power. the only way to fix it was a hard reset. fast forward, it's getting worse and more frequent, random system blinks, where the screen and USB devices power off and the computer restarts, and the freezing became more common, until I had 1 day of use, then 1 hour, then about 30 minutes, and now, it can't even boot without freezing on the loading screen.
Below I will list all of my attempts at fixing it:
Memory check (full extensive)
Motherboard battery reset and replacement
full dusting
not using dedicated graphics
not using included NVME storage (used an HDD),
No USB devices
Full system check through bootup menu
BIOS reset
I have checked for damage on all parts, all are normal looking, no blown fuses or expanded parts.
RAM stick testing
RAM slot testing
I have tried all these solutions and none did I see an improvement, I can't do some of these tests because I can't get past the bootup screen, unless someone has something else to try.
Please respond with detail, as I have tried a lot of solutions

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I understand that you have already performed extensive troubleshooting, including memory testing, BIOS reset, battery replacement, storage testing, removing the dedicated graphics card, disconnecting USB devices, and running the available hardware diagnostics.
Based on the symptoms described, particularly the system freezing during the boot process and the issue occurring in Windows, the problem may be related to a hardware component such as the system board or power supply. Since the issue persists despite the troubleshooting performed, further software troubleshooting is unlikely to resolve it.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you for responding.
Thank you for providing the detailed troubleshooting history and for clarifying that the system remains stable while running lightest games. This additional information is helpful, and I understand that you have already completed extensive hardware and software checks without improvement. I would request you to please follow the steps and share the results.
Because the games run without crashes,
Start the PC → enter BIOS → leave it idle for 30–60 minutes.
Then, if BIOS is stable, boot Windows and immediately start a lightweight game and leave it running. Compare that with leaving Windows sitting at the desktop doing nothing.
If it freezes at the Windows desktop but remains stable while a game is continuously running, tell us that result. That would be a very useful clue toward an idle/power-state transition problem rather than a conventional overheating or RAM failure.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI
- Run the extensive system test, particularly CPU, memory, motherboard and storage tests.
- If possible, run the tests individually rather than relying only on the overall result.
- Record any failure ID exactly as displayed.
Have a good day.

Thank you for responding.
Since the PC remained stable overnight while the lightweight game was running, but froze shortly after the game was closed, the issue is much more consistent with a Windows idle/power-state transition problem than with sustained CPU/GPU load, overheating, or a straightforward RAM failure. I would request you to please follow the steps:
Test Windows power-state behavior
Please perform the following in order:
- Reboot the PC and let Windows start normally.
- Do not launch the game yet.
- Open Settings → System → Power & battery → Power mode.
- Set the power mode to Best performance.
- Under Screen and sleep, temporarily set:
- Screen: Never
- Sleep: Never
- Restart the PC again.
- Leave it sitting at the Windows desktop for at least 30–60 minutes without opening the game.
Then perform the controlled comparison
If it freezes again while sitting idle:
- Restart the PC.
- Launch the same lightweight game.
- Leave the game running for approximately the same period.
- Close the game.
- Do not open anything else. Leave Windows at the desktop and observe whether the freeze occurs shortly after closing the game.
If the system freezes again at idle, try pressing:
Win + Ctrl + Shift + B
This resets the Windows graphics driver.
- If the screen briefly flashes/beeps and Windows becomes responsive again, that would make a graphics/display driver or GPU power-state transition particularly suspicious.
- If nothing happens, note that as well.
Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.
Have a good day
