Hi. I have been offered an upgrade to Windows 11 by Microsoft for my OMEN 25L Desktop - GT11-0012na.
But since then, I have terrible performance issues.
When I switch between apps, the operating system will slow down and freeze, the sound will also start crackling and freeze, for 2 or 3 seconds, and then slowly unfreeze.
I have 6 cores and 12 HT. 24 GB of RAM. So it's not a hardware problem.
I think that it's a very bad support (I mean no support) for Windows 11. I believe that the drivers are just not compatible.
I have been waiting for a couple of months, waiting for Microsoft Windows Update to offer some drivers, I think that I had some HP drivers update from the Windows Update channel. I have updated the NVidia Geforce drivers also.
Installed recommended updates for Windows 11.
But nothing has improved, I have like a terrible IRQ problem, when I switch between different apps the system doesn't crash but just slow down and then freeze for a couple of seconds.
My PC is now basically unusable, I have been patient but I think that I need to find help.
Windows 11 is at this time for me worse than what Windows Vista pre-SP1 was. And that's a lot to say that.

it is above all that you have no interest in using this with a recent computer equipped with a ssd
It sacrifices part of the RAM
I used this type of software a very long time ago, and I was never convinced of the effectiveness finally
In any case, we certainly wouldn't have thought about it

Hi,
Your PC has very good specifications (Link). I have older PCs running W11 nicely. I would guess the BIOS has TPM 2.0 (normally PTT on Intel platform) and Secure Boot enabled.
Have you run a check disk to look for corrupted system files?
Run each command at an Admin command prompt:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
Can you go back to W10 easily? Do you have an OS image backup you can restore?
W11 is W10 with a new interface and TPM 2.0/CPU requirements.

Hi.
I am quite sure that this isn't a file corruption int he system.
SFC / Scannow output:
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
It really look like a very bad driver / Interruption Requests (IRQ) problem.
This PC hasn't been validated for Windows 11 and I am quite sure they would find issues if they test it in a lab.
I unfortunately do not have a way to get back to Windows 10.
HP should take a look at this and make some tests,. I bought this PC 3 months ago, was offered to upgrade to Windows 11, but on their website there is no driver support and no support for Windows 11.
HP should be more careful with this. They are not a hipster/startup in California, they should tell Microsoft that they can't offer support for Windows 11 for some of their PC so Microsoft would not offer the upgrade.
I can't even play video games properly, or even work properly I will experience freezes.
It really looks like a bad driver support, like motherboard and especially sound driver support.

You can look at my PC serial number : *****
There is no Windows 11 support at all from HP.
So why have I been offered a Windows 11 upgrade from Microsoft?
Now I can't use my PC without operating system freezes and sound not working etc.
I need drivers....

Hi,
Remove your PC's serial number.
HP is not providing W11 drivers for your product.
The only thing I could suggest is to go back to W10 or back up data and do a clean W11 install.
I am running W11 on a Gigabyte Z390 MB with a 9900K having zero problems. Gigabyte is not providing W11 drivers for my Z390 MB. I would go back to W10 if my PC was messed up when using W11.
Check hardware using HP Diagnostics. I don't think you have a hardware problem but I don't know what else to tell you.

Hello
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-desktop-pc-25l-gt11-0000i/33802597/model/34795130/product-...
It is a surprisingly not so old computer that no drivers yet

Computer models listed in the following tables are eligible for Windows 11.
Some models (noted with *) might be configured with components that do not meet the minimum hardware requirements of Windows 11. HP recommends that you install PC Health Check from Microsoft to determine if your specific computer is eligible for upgrade.
OMEN 25L Desktop GT11-0xxx
But hey, don't waste time, if your computer was working fine with windows 10
try this
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7) | HP® Customer Support
or try with microsoft media

do a computer check beforehand just in case!

Thank you everyone for helping me. I have found the root cause of the issue.
I am using the AMD Radeon RamDisk (DataRam) for some games.
It's a RAM disk using a driver, but the driver is quite old and is not certified for WIndows 11.
I have uninstalled this software and deleted the associated driver, and problem is solved.

Off topic !
but, I did not find anything deleted, that said, I do not have much in particular!
Not satisfied with the system, but at least no particular problem, like some users , and all peripherals / drivers ok, luckily because no update available for my model
