I plan to buy a ryzen 7 5800x and i would like to know if it would run on the default psu for an HP OMEN 30L GT13-1114. Also, would i need to buy a cooler for it and install?

Its specs

Its existing motherboard supports

Processor upgrade information

  • TDP: Up to 105 W

  • Socket type: AM4

  • Hana motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:

    ProcessorTDP

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (Cezanne) 3.9 GHz base clock, up to 4.4 GHz max boost clock, 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores

    65 W

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (Vermeer) 3.7 GHz base clock, up to 4.6 GHz max boost clock, 32 MB L3 cache, 6 cores

    105 W

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G (Cezanne) 3.8 GHz base clock, up to 4.6 GHz max boost clock, 16 MB L3 cache, 8 cores

    65 W

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (Vermeer) 3.8 GHz base clock, up to 4.7 GHz max boost clock, 32 MB L3 cache, 8 cores

    105 W

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (Vermeer) 3.7 GHz base clock, up to 4.8 GHz max boost clock, 64 MB L3 cache, 12 cores

    105 W

Ryzen 7 5800x is NOT on the list even it also runs at 105W same Socket type. Could be BIOS.

I think you might be mistaken. It is on the list. That is why I am asking if the stocke psu can handle it.

Well, my eyes. The answer should be simpler: Yes it supports Ryzen 7 5800x as shown on the list.
