HI all,

does anyone better versed than me have confirmed information whether the X32 monitor fully flicker free?

One aspect would be whether it uses PWM (likely does not), but also whether its motion blur reduction=respose time reduction feature uses black frame insertion (also known as backlight strobing, which is a kind of flicker too) - and if it does use backlight strobing, whether this can be turned off by the user.

*there may be two different features affecting motion blur, as per the spec sheet :

1) Moving Picture Response Time

Greatly reduces motion blur for a more fluid visual experience

2) 1-millisecond response time with Overdrive

Eliminates motion blur for crisp, fluid gameplay no matter what’s happening on-screen.

 

These two are quite technical, I know, but crucial for me in view of eye safety concerns.

Interestingly I've found the HP support site very unhelpful, with no way for me to contact someone for this information without a serial number, which I don't have as I'm yet to decide whether I want to buy the monitor 🙂
