Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Should I activate xmp with a Lincs motherboard? I have a gaming pavilion( i7-9700, 1660ti, 16gb ram)? It was a i5-9400, 1660ti, 8gb ram when I bought it first.

How are you planning to achieve that?

In my BIOS I guess.

HP's bios is not offering any XMP profiles option, so activating XMP is a lot more complicated than normal motherboards. You would need Intel XTU and a lot of patience.

Oh, ok. I didn’t know. Thank you for the information.

No problem, happy to help.

HP turned off XMP on their Omen gaming desktops that they advertise as 'completely upgradeable'

You can't update your RAM or it runs very slow. Even the $$$ Memory they sell you is running slower than it's spec at 22 CAS. It's absolute garbage. I would strongly recommend against buying a HP/Omen Desktop if you have any plans at updating it... and it's very rare to not upgrade a desktop at some point. At least until they fix this terrible issue they created and any associated problems I don't yet know about.
