Hi everyone i need help i have a hp pavilion gaming desktop computer, & i want to upgrade my computers prossasser from a AMD RYZEN 3 5300G to a AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, but on my computer prossasser unit reading software it says that i have 4 cores & 8 threads on my motherboard where the prossasser go's, & i don't know if i can put a AMD RYZEN 7 5700G In MY Computer because the AMD RYZEN 7 5700G Has 8 Cores & has ? Threads, & so do i need to get a new & Different motherboard or do i have to get a Different & Combatable Prossasser or just give up & buy a new gaming Computer.

HP does not provide much system info with "CTO" PCs.

 

Many HP MBs support CPU upgrade options having different core and thread counts.

 

Your MB probably supports a 5700G. Look at HP System Information for MB specifics or check System Information in Windows Tools, Control Panel to identify the MB.

 

I would need the MB SSID or name to check CPU upgrade info. A different forum member may have the MB information required to provide assistance.

Your MB may be the Erica6.

 

This MB, if your PC has this, supports a 5700G.
