Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000i (491A8AV)

no error messages, computer works just fine but every so often it starts a beeping session. It may not beep for a day or two and then starts beeping.

Greetings @fmozden

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Normally a PC will not: POST or load Windows when you hear startup beep codes. So, your situation is unusual.

Typical Desktop PC beep codes can be reviewed at this HP Site. This site lists a 2:2, a 2:3, or a 2:4 beep code error cadence.

There is also an 8 beep code cadence, not listed at the above site, that points to a BIOS problem.

I don't know what is happening if you hear only a two beep code cadence but the PC then works as expected.

The computer is up and running for hours when it beeps. Never turn it off. Don't know why it beeps. Boot good and no other problem with it. The beeps can come daily or not for days.

What causes the PC to stop beeping? Do you have to restart the PC?

Is the beeping coming from the MB speaker or the Desktop speakers? Can you mute this sound using: the Windows or hardware speaker volume controls?

I've never experienced this particular behavior over 27 years of building and using PCs. 😕

Good move by trying a BIOS update.

I agree, I have also never seen a BIOS warning during a Windows session.
