Hi @yu-gi-oh

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

Thanks for explaining the situation so clearly—it’s understandable how frustrating it can be when expected options like Wake-on-LAN and Power Management settings aren’t visible.

Let’s walk through the steps to help you enable Wake-on-LAN on your OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop and restore the missing Power Management tab for your Realtek network adapter.

🛠️ Step 1: Enable Wake-on-LAN in BIOS

Although you mentioned not finding it, HP systems often place this setting under a specific submenu. Try the following:

  1. Restart your PC and press F10 repeatedly at startup to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
  2. Navigate to the Advanced tab using the arrow keys.
  3. Look for Power Management or Hardware Power Management.
  4. Locate S4/S5 Wake on LAN and set it to Enabled.
  5. Press F10 to save and exit.

If you still don’t see the option, your system may rely on OS-level configuration instead.

🛠️ Step 2: Restore the Missing Power Management Tab

The Power Management tab may be hidden due to driver version or Windows power mode settings. Try these steps:

Update the Network Adapter Driver

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Network Adapters.
  3. Right-click Realtek Gaming GbE Family ControllerUpdate driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Alternatively, download the latest driver from HP’s official support page.

This change may restore the Power Management tab and allow Wake-on-LAN to function properly.

🛠️ Step 3: Enable Wake-on-LAN in Device Manager (Once Tab Appears)

Once the Power Management tab is visible:

  1. Go to Device ManagerNetwork Adapters.
  2. Right-click your adapter → Properties.
  3. Under Power Management, check:
    • “Allow this device to wake the computer”
    • “Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer”

Let me know how far you get with these steps. If the tab still doesn’t appear, I can help you verify registry settings or explore alternate Realtek driver versions. You’re doing all the right things by digging into this—let’s get Wake-on-LAN working as expected.
