From its specs,

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06952115

It supports the following processors

  • TDP: up to 65 W
  • Socket type: AM4
  • Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
    Processor
    TDP
AMD Ryzen 5 3500 (3.4 GHz base clock, up to 4.1 GHz max boost clock, 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores (Matisse)
    65 W
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.2 GHz maximum boost frequency, 32 MB L3 cache, 6 core (Matisse)
    65 W
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz Base frequency, up to 4.4 GHz maximum boost frequency, 32 MB L3 cache, 8 core (Matisse)
    65 W
AMD Ryzen 9 3900 3.1 GHz base clock, up to 4.3 GHz max boost clock, 64 MB L3 cache, 12 cores (Matisse)
    65 W

Is your new processor on the list ?

@devin866555,

Like @banhien suggested, not all look-alike processors are compatible.

The HP OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0xxx platforms come with one of these three motherboards:

1.) DoradoOC motherboard (SSID: 8703) compatible with 10th gen Intel Core processors only -if you install, for example, a 11th gen Intel Core processor (also an LGA1200 socket CPU), that will not work.

2.) Moria3 motherboard (SSID: 87C3) the one @banhien mentioned, has similar compatibility rules.  For example, if you install a Ryzen 7 PRO 3700, that will not work: only the Ryzen 7 3700X variety is compatible.

3.) Hana motherboard (SSID: 8876), ditto for this motherboard: if you try to install a Ryzen 7 5700 or a Ryzen 7 5700X, that will not work: only the Ryzen 7 5700G is compatible.

Kind Regards,
