hi whomever reading this, i need help about error 901

so when i gotten a new pc case and i booted it up it came up as

POST Fan Detection Error

901- Chassis Fan Not Detected (Rear)

Press Enter to Continue

and for my old case this wasnt happening though and i did find a post abt this problem but its archived

also i have a gtx 1060 3gb dual fan and i dont know the motherboard name but i know its from hp and its a mini-ish looking atx size

if you know whats wrong please me tell me as i want to resolve the problem

I have seen this problem before when replacing a HP fan with a retail fan in a HP case or moving a HP MB to a different case using a retail fan.

 

The HP MB provides no options to set fan curves. The retail fan is causing this error because the fan startup characteristics don't comply with the HP MB's fan RPM detection settings.

 

The only solution I see is to try to mount the HP fan in the new case or deal with the error message.

 

HP generally uses 92 mm chassis fans in older PCs. Many newer HP PCs use 120 mm fans. Your new case may be using 120 mm fans.
