Hello I own an omen 25L desktop computer. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said contact the manufacture. I am unsure of what to do; do i need to buy a new stick of ram? I use one stick of hyperx fury ddr4 2933mhz.

Hi @bruno194-,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP OMEN 25L showed a memory diagnostic message telling you to contact the manufacturer. It can indicate a RAM issue, but it does not always mean you must immediately buy a new memory stick.

How to Isolate and Fix the Memory Issue:

  1. Run Hardware Diagnostics: Restart your computer and repeatedly tap the ESC key until the Startup menu appears, then press F2 to launch the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics. Run a comprehensive memory test to confirm if it is a physical RAM failure or a Windows OS glitch.

  2. Reseat the RAM: Turn off and unplug your OMEN 25L desktop. Open the side panel, unlock the plastic retention clips, and remove the HyperX Fury RAM stick. Wipe the gold contacts with a clean microfiber cloth, and push it firmly back into the slot until it clicks.

  3. Check for Slot Damage: If you are using only one stick, your motherboard requires it to be in a specific DIMM slot (typically the one closest to the processor). If your PC fails to boot, the issue could be the motherboard slot rather than the RAM itself.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
