Hi @gowtham15,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're facing issues with the battery capacity of your new Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop, it could be due to a few reasons, such as incorrect battery calibration, software issues, or hardware defects. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and possibly resolve the issue.

Check Battery Health

  • Windows Battery Report: You can generate a battery health report in Windows to check your laptop's battery status.
    1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    2. Type powercfg /batteryreport and hit Enter.
    3. This will generate a report that you can find in your C:\Users\[Your Username] folder.
    4. Review the report to see the "Design Capacity" vs. "Full Charge Capacity."

Calibrate Your Battery

Sometimes, battery percentage readings can be inaccurate. You can try recalibrating your battery by doing the following:

  1. Fully charge your laptop to 100%.
  2. Unplug the charger and use your laptop until it completely drains and shuts down.
  3. Charge it back to 100% without interruption. This process helps reset the battery sensor and can improve the accuracy of the battery's reported capacity.

Update BIOS & Drivers

  • Go to HP Support and check for any BIOS updates or drivers specifically related to power management and battery.
  • Update to the latest HP System Utility Software, which may include fixes for battery-related issues.

Check Battery Saver Settings

  • Make sure you're not running unnecessary background apps and services that might be draining the battery faster than normal.
  • Use the Battery Saver mode in Windows when you’re not gaming to conserve battery.

Power Plan Settings

  • Check your power plan settings to ensure you're using an optimal setup. You can find this under Control Panel > Power Options. Consider setting it to Balanced or Battery Saver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
