@Dom06300, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Adding an HDD or SSD to HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop TG02!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

On the HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop TG02, a SATA connection is typically used to connect storage devices like Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) or Solid State Drives (SSDs) to the motherboard. This allows for data transfer between the storage device and the rest of the computer system.

Adding Additional Storage:

Identify Available SATA Ports:

  • Check inside your desktop to locate available SATA ports on the motherboard. This will be where you connect your additional HDD or SSD.

Select the Storage Type:

  • You can use a traditional HDD for more storage capacity at a typically lower cost.
  • An SSD can be used for faster data access speeds, making it ideal for the operating system or commonly used applications.

Physical Installation:

  • Open the computer case and safely insert the additional drive into an appropriate bay.
  • Secure the drive using screws if necessary to prevent movement.

Connect to the System:

  • Use a SATA cable to connect the drive to the SATA port on the motherboard.
  • Connect a power cable from the power supply unit to the drive.

Configure the Drive:

  • Once installed physically, boot the computer and enter the BIOS to ensure it recognizes the new drive.
  • Format the drive through the operating system to make it usable for data storage.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello,
I connected an SSD to the SATA, but it didn't get into the BIOS. I'll try it. Thank you very much.
