Greetings @smwalton72
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Check your PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows:
Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.
Select "F2". Run extensive system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem.
Check System Files:
Open an Admin command prompt as follows:
Open Search then enter "command prompt". Right-click on the search result.
Select "Run as Administrator".
Enter the following commands, one at a time.
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth note: the PC must be connected to the network when using the DISM command.
This operation should restore system files if they were corrupted. Restart the PC after the DISM command completes.
Then run Command Prompt again. Enter the next command to verify system files are okay.
sfc /scannow
System files should be good to go.
Then download and run HWiNFO portable to check component temps and component performance at idle and when playing Roblox.
You might have to try uninstalling and reinstalling Roblox if the above tests indicate your PC's: hardware and Windows are healthy.
It's tough to troubleshoot poor gaming performance in a Forum.

Faced same issue but one approach I’ve used is running certain games through custom Roblox scripts, which can smooth out gameplay by reducing resource-heavy effects and automating some tasks. You can find a good collection here that works well with Delta Executor.
Step-by-step to improve your experience:
Cool your laptop first — make sure air vents are clear, and consider using a cooling pad.
Update your graphics drivers — overheating can sometimes corrupt driver performance.
Install Delta Executor — a lightweight Roblox script executor that can help optimize certain in-game functions.
Load a performance script — many scripts disable unnecessary effects or streamline gameplay elements, freeing up CPU/GPU usage.
Test in different Roblox games — start with lighter titles, then move to your main games once you’re happy with performance.
By combining cooling fixes with script-based optimization, you can often make Roblox run much smoother even on slightly stressed hardware.
