Hi @Ares672,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Improving the FPS (frames per second) in your game can be achieved through a series of troubleshooting steps. Let's work through some potential solutions to enhance the performance of Warcraft on your HP Victus.
System Requirements Check
- Verify System Requirements: Ensure your HP Victus meets the minimum and recommended system requirements for Warcraft.
Update and Optimize
Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can do this through the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) or using a tool like GeForce Experience for NVIDIA cards.
Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows operating system is fully updated.
- Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates
In-Game Settings Adjustment
Lower In-Game Graphics Settings: Reduce the graphics settings within Warcraft. Focus on settings like texture quality, shadows, anti-aliasing, and resolution.
- Set the resolution to a lower setting.
- Turn off or lower shadows and anti-aliasing.
- Reduce texture and effect quality.
V-Sync and Frame Rate Cap: Disable V-Sync and any frame rate cap settings to allow your GPU to output as many frames as possible.
Background Processes
Close Background Applications: Close unnecessary applications running in the background that might be consuming system resources.
- Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) > Processes > End Task for non-essential programs
Game Mode and GPU Scheduling:
- Enable Game Mode: Go to Settings > Gaming > Game Mode and ensure it is turned on.
- Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling: Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings, then toggle "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" on.

Power Settings
- Set Power Plan to High Performance:
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
- Select the “High performance” power plan.
Advanced Troubleshooting
- Check for Thermal Throttling: Ensure your laptop is not overheating. Clean any dust from vents, and consider using a cooling pad.
- Adjust Virtual Memory:
- Right-click on "This PC" > Properties > Advanced system settings > Performance (Settings) > Advanced > Virtual Memory (Change).
- Set the virtual memory to be managed by Windows or set it to a custom size (1.5 times your RAM size).
Game-Specific Tweaks
- Use DirectX Version: Sometimes switching between DirectX versions (DirectX 11 vs. DirectX 12) can help improve performance.
- This can often be changed in the game's settings or through a command-line parameter in the game launcher.
Reinstall the Game
- Reinstall Warcraft: If none of the above solutions work, consider reinstalling the game to ensure there are no corrupted files affecting performance.
By following these steps, you should be able to significantly improve your FPS in Warcraft on your HP Victus. If the problem persists, there might be a deeper hardware or software issue at play.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
