Hi @speeed,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15 has white spots on the display, it could be indicative of a hardware issue with the screen. White spots on a laptop display are typically caused by one of the following reasons.

  • Dead Pixels: White spots can be the result of dead pixels on the screen. Dead pixels are individual pixels that have stopped functioning and appear as white dots.
  • Pressure or Impact Damage: If the laptop has been subjected to physical damage or pressure, it could lead to display issues, including white spots.
  • Liquid Damage: Spilling liquid on the laptop can damage the screen and result in irregular spots or patches.
  • Graphics Card or Driver Issues: Sometimes, display problems can be related to the laptop's graphics card or its drivers. However, this is less likely to cause white spots specifically.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

  • Check for Dead Pixels: You can use online tools or apps designed to help identify and fix dead pixels. These tools often cycle through different colors to try and revive dead pixels. Keep in mind that this may not work for all cases.
  • Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can do this by going to the official HP website and downloading the latest drivers for your specific laptop model.
  • Examine for Physical Damage: Carefully inspect the laptop's screen for any physical damage. If you find any, it's likely that the display needs to be replaced.
  • Avoid Liquid Exposure: Make sure to keep liquids away from your laptop to prevent any further damage.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
