It looks like your PC may have a different component problem if reinstalling the factory CPU first worked okay. But the PC is now doing the same thing it did when using the new CPU.

Check your PC's hardware with the factory CPU as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run extensive system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem.

Let the Forum know how it goes.

Greetings @1suffer

I'm having a problem, using the info you are providing, deciding if the PC is stable or unstable using the factory CPU.

The PC may have a different component problem if the PC is unstable using the HP factory CPU. But the factory CPU is okay.

Or you have two bad CPUs, which is very unusual.

The new CPU may have failed if the PC is stable using the factory CPU.

Have a local PC Tech test the factory CPU and the new CPU to see what's happening.

Do an RMA with AMD if the new CPU, you purchased at retail, has failed.

Contact HP if the PC is in warranty and the factory CPU has failed.

I used chatgpt to add syntax, sorry that I don't have it in the original msg but reading over this it gets the main points and i get that its hard to read without doing it so. It’s been months since I upgraded my CPU, but last night, I left my computer on while I was asleep. I woke up to a black monitor, and neither my mouse nor keyboard was working. After a few hours today, I realized that it was my new CPU that had stopped working. I’m currently using my old CPU, and my PC is working again, but it makes no sense how my CPU could just randomly die while I was asleep. Initially, I noticed some problems with my cursor disappearing on my browser, so I factory reset my PC. After the reset, I started noticing that my screen would flicker black in certain areas, but it wasn’t common. Then, I went to sleep, and when I woke up, the system was unresponsive. I don’t understand how my CPU could be damaged—nothing was running. I was just on my desktop when I went to sleep. Is there any way to fix my new CPU? I really need it, as my old CPU is much slower. Even my new CPU is barely good enough. It makes no sense that it just randomly stopped working overnight. I considered that it might be an issue with the BIOS version after the factory reset, but I had been using the PC for hours after the reset before this happened. Additionally, when I initially installed the new CPU, I didn’t need to update the BIOS, so I’m not sure what’s going on. I hope someone with more technical knowledge can help me get my new CPU to work without me having to buy a new one. There is no visible damage on the processor, and I ran BIOS checks on all my hardware, which all passed. However, the second I install my new CPU, the display goes blank, and I can’t even access the BIOS. When I tried swapping CPUs again yesterday, I removed the heatsink fan, and it literally pulled the entire CPU out without releasing the latch, so I’m lucky my older CPU didn’t break. I’m hesitant to try swapping the CPUs again without being sure the system will work. I also can’t afford to buy a new CPU. I’m using an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV), which originally came with a Ryzen 3 5300G—an awful processor. I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 5700G, which worked fine for about six months without issues, but now I’m stuck. I really hope someone can help me fix my new CPU. I can’t buy a new PC or CPU, and this one struggles to maintain 144 fps in games like Valorant and Fortnite, leading to a choppy experience. I’m grateful my PC still works at all, but it makes no sense that my system randomly died. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
