Need: Power switch pin assignments for HP sunflower motherboard and need to know if this board has manual (push button) reset capability
Why: Silverstone ESO2-PCIe remote power switch
Explaination: I've installed the Switch to the best of my inexperienced ability. The power button on the remote works..... once. The system starts up perfectly via remote. Only once though.
I'll the pc down and try to restart the pc via remote and the PCIe chip led doesn't respond to remote inputs and the sync button on the chip won't activate.
IAW the very...very vague instructions per silverstone, I unplug the pc, hold power button 5 seconds, remove and reinsert the PCIe receiver into the x1 slot, restore power, re-sync the remote and the system powers up again via remote. Shut down, attempt restart, no change
Receiver installed Via PCIe ×1
Install process: After a few hundred internet searches and a few hours of messing with this thing to no avail, I got impatient and began poking at the 4 individual pins on the mother board with the 2 ss harness pins in various parings and polarities while holding the power button on the remote until the PC turned on. Then the issue explained already made itself known.
I also let the smoke out of the power button on the front panel after a bad guess. The button still works believe it or not. I have to push it a little harder though. System Diag doesn't reveal any issues. I ordered a new power switch and harness just in case.
It seems to me that either the PCIe slot or the chip is shutting down after startup, Pull power, chip, button push works once yada yada
Is it my bad wiring or system settings that need to be changed?

Hi @NoobModder ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690 Series, as detailed hardware information on the power switch pinout.
Regarding the issue you're experiencing with the Silverstone ESO2-PCIe remote power switch, here are some general troubleshooting steps and considerations:
Check Power Supply: Ensure that the power supply to the PCIe slot and the remote power switch is stable. Inconsistent power supply may lead to communication issues.
Update Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers for both the motherboard and the PCIe remote power switch.
Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: Some motherboards have settings related to power management and PCIe slots in the BIOS/UEFI. Check if there are any relevant settings that might affect the behavior of the PCIe slot.
Verify Remote Control Range: Make sure that the remote control is within the specified range and there are no obstacles blocking the signal.
Test Another PCIe Slot: If possible, try installing the PCIe receiver in a different PCIe slot on the motherboard to see if the issue persists.
Inspect Wiring: Double-check the wiring to ensure that it is properly connected and not damaged. Make sure there are no loose connections.
Replace Remote Battery: If the remote control uses batteries, try replacing them with fresh ones.
Contact Silverstone Support: If the issue persists, contact Silverstone support for assistance. They may have specific insights into compatibility or known issues with certain motherboards.
Test with a Different Remote: If you have access to another compatible remote, try using it to see if the issue is with the remote control itself.
Inspect PCIe Slot: Examine the PCIe slot for any physical damage or debris that might be causing connection issues.
If you've already ordered a new power switch and harness, it's a good idea to wait for those replacements and install them according to the HP instructions. If the issue persists after trying the above steps and replacing the components,
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
