Product: OMEN by HP 880-040 Desktop
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I currently have a Video Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 on my OMEN by HP 880-040 Desktop and I want to replace it with an NVidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Is this replacement device possible?

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

The 2080 Ti is a dual slot plus graphics card, requires a 650 watt power supply having six and eight pin connections to the card, and can vary in length from 10.5 inches to more than 12 inches.

 

Your motherboard layout looks like it can do a dual slot or greater graphics card.

 

You would have to pick a specific card. Then verify the desired card length will fit in your chassis.

 

A power supply upgrade is required to power this card. You have a 500 watt PSU now.

 

A retail 2080 TI is going to run much hotter than a HP 1080 card designed by HP for your PC.

 

You may have to add one or more chassis fans to keep this PC cool when AAA gaming on a retail 2080 TI.
