hi,
i have a very bad hdd and i want to upgrade to SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus 1tb ssd m.2..... buty im not sure if my hp pavilion gaming desktop 690-01xx is compatibale.... the system sku is 6RM11EA#ABD.

I can't find its specs, only its parts list

which says it has 1TB of 7200RPM HDD part # 848195-800 now. I believe it uses Lincs motherboard

According to HP's specs, your rig has one M.2 socket 3, 2280 type for SSD. Your desktop should have no issues whatsoever having an NVMe SDD installed. For example, I installed a Samsung EVO 970 Plus M.2 1TB SSD as my primary drive on an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF -see last link below. Booting up and read/write speeds are insanely fast!
