Hello, recently i have added samsung 970 evo plus nvme m.2 ssd to my hp pavilion gaming laptop. i have migrated the os data this ssd. when i am try to setup this ssd as bootup option in bios, i am not able to find the ssd in the boot manager list. i have updated bios and did everything. but nothing resolved the issue. please let me know, if there is any additional setup needs to be done to get the ssd in boot list

Thanks for you reply Paul,

 

i have solved the issue by boot the machine from bios explorer using 'boot from EFI file'

once the machine is up. i did format the hard disk and restart the machine.

now the boot manager automatically set to ssd.

Hi:

 

You have to temporarily disconnect the hard drive so that the Windows boot manager automatically switches to the NVMe SSD.

 

Run the notebook for a little while on just the NVMe SSD.

 

Restart it, turn it off...make sure it works fine.

 

You can't have two drives with two operating system installed or the notebook will always want to boot from the 2.5" SATA drive first and not the NVMe SSD.

 

Once it switches, you should be able to reconnect the 2.5" drive and use it for storage only.
