Hi

Did you make any changes in the BIOS before installing W11? Try resetting the BIOS to defaults.

Hi

I have nothing else to offer other than having a local PC technician take a look to find the bad component.

Have a customer with same computer!  Same problem!!!  Been researching this issue for weeks now with no solution!  Check your BIOS version.  His computer has v.57.  There is no longer v.57 offered for this computer on the HP support page!  Appears HP posted a bios update and pulled it once they realized it is jacking up this gaming computer.  BUT it won't allow us to flash to a previous bios version.  If my theory is correct, HP will need to release an updated BIOS to fix this issue.  Another guy "Manny0034" just posted in this forum the exact same issue with the exact same computer.

I have the same PC with the same issue. Initially the OS was freezing up randomly, no crashing or related logs. Passed all hardware diagnostics, everything was up to date. Ran various OS fixes, no change, decided to reinstall OS, and now it hangs on "Just a moment" like others have reported.  I have tried replacing every major component other than the motherboard. No change. It is running the .57 BIOS, and while I'm not positive that update was applied right when issues started, based on evidence it seems likely. Wanted to see if anyone else has any success in fixing this issue or any new info.

PC_TECH62, I believe that the BIOS update v.57 is the culprit!  If you search for v.57, it doesn't exist anywhere.  I suspect that this version was released BUT shortly thereafter it got taken down once they realized that it was causing issues.  The only solution I see is for HP to release a new BIOS version to fix this issue.  I keep checking the HP Drivers download page  in the hopes that a new BIOS is released soon.

I believe you're right. I tried to see if I could flash back to the older .55 BIOS but it doesn't allow it from OS and there isn't an option in the HP UEFI diagnostics for BIOS recovery like there usually is so I guess that's not an option on this model for some reason. BIOS recovery USB didn't help either, never loads the recovery.

PC_TECH62, NOTE that the following won't work as it won't allow us to flash the BIOS with an older version.  But I am providing this rather lengthy procedure for you as well as others as this will be necessary to flash the BIOS once HP releases a fix.   MY PROCEDURE was to use another computer to download F.55 Rev.A for ROM Family SSID 83433 (this is the latest-albeit older version-of the BIOS that HP currently offers and is dated 8/2/22) from the HP support page.  It has the option to install the BIOS installer on a flash drive.  I then had to boot the nonbooting Gaming 690 PC using a different flash drive containing HIRENS software which loads a bootable version of Windows 10.  From there I could launch the BIOS installer from the other flash drive.  Of course, since F.55 is older than the currently installed F.57, it reports that it cannot install an older version.

Pcgraphix , there is a method to roll back the BIOS to the .55 posted in this thread. I can confirm it works.
