Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

My name is alex and im having an issue with my laptop not recognizing my GPU. Ive updated my drivers and windows updates first. Even after installing those ive seen my laptop still using my intergrated intel graphics as a display. I dont see and option in bios to switch the priority and went as far as going into nvidia control panel and making sure the 1050 was chosen, still not working though. What else do i need to do to make my HP Omen 15 recognize my 1050.

thanks,

Alex G.

Make sure you have hardware acceleration for graphics and are using the NVidia

Download GPU-z to see if your NVidia is working at full load. Use CPU-z also

Verify CPU speed using this tool (CPU-Z)

You might be able to check for GPU/CPU temperature problems using this tool (GPU-Z) and selecting 'sensors'

The task manager can show a problem such as CPU or GPU running at %100 load or not having enough memory

There is also a Hot Spot that can exceed the 100c temperature limit. This automatically throttles the GPU
