Hi @manoonn_1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand your interest in making the most out of your Victus laptop’s battery life. Gaming laptops are powerful machines, and it’s natural to want them to last longer when running on battery. You’ve already taken the right step by asking about optimization, so let’s go through how it works and what you can do to extend battery life.

On Victus laptops, battery optimization is managed through a combination of hardware design and software controls:

HP Power Management and Performance Modes

  • Victus laptops include performance profiles that balance power and performance. When you select a mode like “Balanced” or “Battery Saver” in Windows, the system reduces CPU and GPU usage, which lowers power consumption.
  • Switching to these modes when you’re not gaming helps extend battery life significantly.

HP Battery Health Manager

  • In the BIOS or HP App, you can enable Battery Health Manager settings. These help reduce wear on the battery by controlling charging behavior, especially if the laptop is often plugged in.
    Guide: HP Battery Health Manager

Display and Graphics Optimization

  • Lowering screen brightness and disabling high refresh rates when not gaming reduces battery drain.
  • Integrated graphics are used for lighter tasks, while the dedicated GPU is reserved for gaming. Ensuring hybrid graphics is enabled helps save power.

Background Processes and Apps

  • Close unnecessary apps and background tasks. Gaming laptops often run companion software that can consume power even when idle.
  • Use Task Manager to monitor and end processes that aren’t needed.

Windows Battery Saver and HP App

  • Windows Battery Saver mode automatically limits background activity and reduces brightness.
  • The HP App allows you to monitor battery health and apply optimization settings.
    Guide: Install HP App

Charging Habits

  • Avoid keeping the laptop plugged in continuously while gaming. Instead, allow the battery to discharge and recharge periodically.
  • If you mostly use the laptop on AC power, enabling Battery Health Manager’s “Maximize My Battery Health” option helps prolong lifespan.

By combining these settings—performance profiles, Battery Health Manager, display adjustments, and smart charging habits—you’ll notice your Victus laptop lasting longer on battery while also protecting its long‑term health.

I understand the confusion—it can feel unclear when you see “Advanced Battery Option” in BIOS or the HP Omen/HP App but don’t know exactly what it’s doing. Thank you for checking carefully, that detail helps narrow it down.

On Victus laptops, the Advanced Battery Option you’re seeing is part of what HP calls Battery Health Manager. It doesn’t appear as “Power Management” in BIOS, but it serves the same purpose: protecting the battery’s long‑term health. Here’s how it works:

Advanced Battery Option (Battery Health Manager)

Maximize My Battery Health
Limits charging to reduce wear if you keep the laptop plugged in most of the time. The battery may not charge fully to 100%, but this extends its lifespan.

Let HP Manage My Battery Charging
Automatically adjusts charging behavior based on your usage patterns. For example, if you often game while plugged in, it will optimize charging cycles to reduce stress on the battery.

Always Fully Charge
Charges the battery to 100% every time. This gives maximum runtime per charge but can shorten long‑term battery health if the laptop is constantly on AC power.

How it ties into the HP Omen/HP App

  • In the HP Omen Gaming Hub / HP App, you’ll find performance profiles (Balanced, Eco, Performance). These control CPU/GPU power draw and cooling behavior.
  • When combined with the BIOS battery option, you get both short‑term optimization (longer runtime per charge) and long‑term optimization (slower battery wear).

Practical guidance for you

  • If your goal is longer battery lifespan, choose Maximize My Battery Health in BIOS.
  • If your goal is maximum runtime per charge, choose Always Fully Charge.
  • For a balance, use Let HP Manage My Battery Charging—it adapts automatically.
  • Pair this with Balanced/Eco mode in the HP App when not gaming, and Performance mode only when plugged in.

Here’s HP’s official guide that explains these BIOS battery options:
