Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am attempting to upgrade my RAM from 8gb to 16gb, but when I was looking at the owner's manual (Page 44) the directions said to remove 6 screws from the top half of the bottom cover, but my computer only has 4 screws and only 4 screw holes. The diagram has the 4 screws my computer has (the 4 in a line at the rear) but then it has an additional 2 on either side of the vent which my computer does not have. My computer has the acid-green accents and I am assuming the cover model is L20317-001.

Here is the manual I was using: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985643

Should I be worried? Should I just try to remove the cover none the less? Is this a possible defect as there are not even any holes for screws?

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

The Service Manual is a general Service Guide for HP Pavilion Gaming Laptops. There might be slight difference based on the Models

If the Back cover is not loose then nothing to worry.

You can go ahead with the upgrade and remove the back cover

Hope this helps

Thank you and have a great day 😊

Just look it up on the internet. OEM is Samsung PM981 which is apparently the 970 evo in retail form.
