I recently bought a HP Victus 15-fa0000. I noticed when I use my headphones there is a crackling and popping sound that occurs every so often. I updated everything and have tried numerous solutions like updating and using different audio drivers. Yet the problem is still there.
Any ideas what is causes this and how to fix it?

Thank you for posting back.
The last thing I can suggest try and restore the OS back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue. The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- Have you tried the different headphones or earphones?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Hard Reset: Follow the steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked to Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for responding.
I just bought the laptop and only thing I downloaded were two drivers (problem was still there before I downloaded these) and updated to the recent windows. I also tried multiple headphones and the problem is still there.
I tried the solution you posted, and it didn't work, the audio is crackling.
